Before being allowed to sit CIMA professional exams it is necessary to complete or be exempted from the Certificate in Business Accounting (CBA).
The CBA syllabus has the following five exams:
C01 - Fundamentals of Management Accounting
C02 - Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
C03 - Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
C04 - Fundamentals of Business Economics
C05 - Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law
Examinations for Entry level are computer-based and in Armenia can be taken at IAB Centre, a CIMA recognised CBA centre.
Exemptions from Entry level are granted based on the student’s prior studies, such as where similar subjects were studied at a recognised university. Note that CIMA tends to be very cautious when granting exemptions to C01 and C02 because they are critical building blocks to some of the subsequent subjects in the professional syllabus. Students are not usually exempted from C05 unless they have a degree in Law.
